Dhigurah island is located in the south part of Ari Atoll, only 20 minutes away by plane from Male. The island is one of the longest in Maldives and indeed that is what Dhigurah means in Dheveli, (Maldivian local language)… long island. The beach is 3 KM long and leads to a sand bank which is perfect for sunset watching, wildlife watching and walks. There are two schools, a medical centre with a Doctor and 630 local people who are happy to share their beautiful island with all our guests.

We’re a small, all-inclusive dive hotel on a Dhigurah Island a local island in the Maldives. Our tight knit BB Team is passionate about what we do, and we each play a part in creating something truly special for our guests. From the kitchen to the dive centre, from housekeeping to hosting, we work together with one goal: to make your stay unforgettable!

Daily Presentation
At Boutique Beach, the magic of the Maldives begins long before you dip beneath the surface. We invite you to join us for engaging daily presentations that open a window into the fascinating marine world that surrounds our island. Led by our passionate resident marine biologist, these sessions explore the lives and behaviours of manta rays, whale sharks, and reef sharks, helping you understand and appreciate these incredible creatures on a whole new level.
From the graceful ballet of feeding manta rays to the gentle majesty of whale sharks and the dynamic presence of reef sharks like white tips, grey reefs, and nurse sharks—you’ll gain insight into their ecosystems, behaviours, and the importance of marine conservation. You’ll also learn about proper etiquette and safety when encountering these animals, enriching your diving and snorkelling experiences.
And for those curious about the stories behind the scenes, we’re always happy to share the incredible journey of how our custom dive boat, Manta Mobula, came to life….a true passion project built with divers in mind.
Whether you’re an experienced diver or new to the ocean, these sessions are the perfect way to deepen your connection to the underwater world. Come curious…leave inspired.
Evening Gathering
At Boutique Beach, our evenings are a cherished time of connection and celebration. Each night, the entire ref BB Family—both our team and guests—gathers together to share stories of the day’s adventures. We chat about our dives, log our experiences, and even identify the fascinating fish we encountered, welcoming new faces and bidding fond farewell to those traveling on.
Our nightly ritual continues with engaging presentations on marine life and planning for the next day’s dives and activities. Together, we watch the ref daily dive video on our TV, reliving the beauty of our underwater journeys. As the night unfolds, our evening meeting gracefully transitions into a dinner under the stars….a perfect conclusion to a day filled with camaraderie, wonder, and the spirit of the Maldives.
Our initiatives
To respect the local religion here there is no alcohol available on Dhigurah, however guests who would like a drink can visit a nearby resort only 10 minutes away.
Guests are reminded to wear shorts and tee shirts as a minimum when walking into the village but bikini sunbathing can be enjoyed right in front of Boutique Beach, minutes away and also on the boat once we are out of the harbour.
Boutique Beach supports local initiatives aimed at improving the lives of our villagers and often sponsors school prizes and projects. We have worked to help reduce the plastic bag use on the island by providing all families with cotton carrier bags and carried out beach cleaning projects.
Guests can learn to cook Maldivian style, play Bodu Beru drums, see local crafts and watch or play one of the many sports taking place on Dhigurah… football, volleyball, badminton, bashi…a ladies game where the ball is hit backwards.
